Similar to a Elk Hair Caddis with the primary difference being the absence of any hackle. Instead the fly depends on the teased out body fur for floatation.

Instructions
1
Place the hook in the vise and run the thread along the shank from the eye to a point opposite the barb.
2
Tie in the tinsel along shank, return thread to the point opposite the barb.
3
Apply the dubbing to the thread, and form a cigar shaped body leaving room to form a head behind the eye.
4
Wrap the tinsel along the body creating evenly spaced turns around the body. Tie off and trim.
5
Align the tips of a small bunch of elk hair, and tie in directly in front of the body allowing the tips to extend slightly past the hook bend. Continue to tie in the wing, adjusting pressure on the wraps so that the wing is at a 45 degree angle from the hook shank.
6
Cast off thread and apply cement, trim the waste ends of the wing at an slight angle directly behind the eye forming a head.
7
Using a dubbing needle or velcro tease out the dubbing to form a bristly body.
